Recommendation to the establishment of a technical office to coordinate efforts to support small and medium enterprises
A study of the Chamber information and studies center Called for creating a technical Office to coordinate efforts between the supporters and sponsors of small and medium enterprises in Saudi Arabia, is under the supervision of small and medium-sized enterprises approved by the Shura Council. The study said titled ' small and medium-sized enterprises and their strategic importance ' that one of the functions of this Office is to oversee programs supporting small and medium enterprises, securing loans for small and medium-sized enterprises, and supervision of all stages of the implementation of the Treaty and take the necessary action to achieve the established objectives.
The functions of the Office as the study is to support the technical and business incubators and industry in all regions of the Kingdom, especially remote areas, and support the creativity and individual initiative directed towards adapting the technology and knowledge to exploit the natural and human resources, in cooperation with the Export Development Corporation to assist in enhancing the capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises to gain access to foreign markets, in addition to sponsoring conferences, symposia, exhibitions and events for small and medium-sized enterprises by the Chambers of Commerce, participating in and activate their results. The study called for supporting the establishment of companies specializing in finance and the role of banks and other loan funds and motivated to play a greater role in financing and investing in small and medium-sized enterprises. The study also stressed the importance of establishing a national fund to support small and medium-sized enterprises. In this context, called upon to determine the important economic sectors in order to provide the necessary support, as well as targeting small and medium-sized enterprises by stages of development to strengthen their capacity for continuity.
It also called for the promotion of companies specializing in Internet marketing, so that the use of small and medium enterprises to e-commerce tools of propaganda and marketing and other such facilities can be useful in increasing sales and increase their exports, so that small and medium-sized enterprises suffer from weak marketing capabilities, there is no doubt that providing assistance to these facilities will enable it to overcome marketing problems you are experiencing. The study said that ' the world economic community realized the importance of SMEs in the economic activities, and successfully transformed into a key driver of economic growth, where the small and medium enterprise sector has great contribution in the GDP of States. The study based on international reports that these facilities are around (95) of the total economic sector enterprises in various countries of the world, although this varies from State to State, and employs about 60 workers in the private sector worldwide.
The study noted that, given the importance of the sector Council took a decision to establish a public body for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the decision was made in line with the orientations of the ninth development plan in the development of this sector and its development. The issuance of the Board's approval of the project authority dated 25 March 2012, a significant development in this sector. The study reviewed a number of international experiences support specifically United States, and Japan and South Korea, Thailand, China, India, and Italy, and some Arabic and Gulf States, and noted that all countries participate in several aspects, notably the adoption of strategies for the development of small and medium enterprise sector, by facilitating the access of SMEs to financial support to enhance competitiveness, increase opportunities for training of human resources, and assist in strengthening their capacity to reach overseas markets, and support research and inventions.
